Covered Tows Cost You Nothing
This is the question people actually call and ask, and the answer is usually better than they expect. If your policy includes towing, or if the other driver was at fault and their liability covers it, we bill the insurance company directly. You do not front the money and wait to be reimbursed.
When the Tow Is Free to You
Two situations cover most calls. First: your own policy includes towing or roadside coverage — most do, and most people don't know it. Second: the collision was another driver's fault, and their liability covers the tow. In either case we bill the carrier and you pay nothing. You do not need to know which applies before you call. Tell dispatch what happened and we'll work it out.
What We Need From You at the Scene
Your insurer and policy number if you have them, or the other driver's information if they were at fault. If you don't have any of it in the moment, that's fine — call anyway. Get somewhere safe. We'll get the vehicle off the road first and sort the paperwork after.
We're on the Approved-Vendor Lists
We're on every major carrier's approved-vendor list, which is why claims go through without a fight. It also means the adjuster already knows who we are. Related: accident and collision towing.
Storage and Adjuster Access
After a collision the insurer usually wants the vehicle held for inspection before repair or total-loss decisions. We store it in a gated, camera-monitored yard and coordinate adjuster access so your claim isn't held up by a parking problem. See secure vehicle storage.
Where the Vehicle Goes Is Your Call
Your body shop, your dealer, or our yard — you choose the destination, not the insurer, and not us. We deliver where you tell us.
What Isn't Covered
Being straight about it: a non-accident breakdown with no roadside coverage on your policy is a customer-pay tow, and a private-property impound is billed under a different arrangement entirely. We'll tell you which situation you're in before the truck rolls, not after.
Why Hadley
- We own every truck. Hadley drivers, Hadley equipment, Hadley dispatch. Not an app, not a dispatch network — your call is never farmed out to a stranger.
- Family-owned since 1952. Three generations, the same yards, the same phone numbers. See why that matters.
- We show up with the right iron. The truck we send is sized to the job, because a job worked with the wrong equipment costs more than it saves.
- Insurance approved. Covered tows are billed directly to the carrier and cost you nothing — see insurance-covered towing.
