TRANSIT, CHARTER &
SCHOOL BUS TOWING

A disabled bus is a passenger problem before it is a towing problem. People have to come off safely, often on a live shoulder, before anything gets hooked. Hadley runs Class 8 wreckers rated for transit and charter coaches, and drivers who have worked these scenes with agencies before. Call 24/7: (562) 692-3793.

Buses Are a Passenger Scene First

Our first question on a bus call is how many people are on board and where they are standing. Everything else follows from that.

What We Move

Municipal transit buses, charter and tour coaches, school buses, shuttle and hotel buses, and paratransit vehicles. Air brakes, driveline disconnects, and lift points that won't crumple a low-floor frame.

Passenger Safety First

On a live freeway shoulder the priority is getting people behind a barrier before anything is rigged. We coordinate with CHP and local PD on lane closures and passenger transfer, then work the recovery.

The Right Iron

A full transit bus is Class 8 wrecker work — see heavy-duty towing. Smaller shuttle and hotel buses often go on a medium-duty wrecker. A rolled coach is a rotator job: rotator recovery.

Agencies and Operators

Transit agencies, school districts, and charter operators run standing accounts with us so there's no procurement scramble at the roadside — see commercial fleet towing.

Where It Happens

Charter coaches break down on the grades — the Cajon above Fontana and the 15 north. Transit and school buses go down on surface streets and the LA arterials around our downtown yard.

Why Hadley

  • We own every truck. Hadley drivers, Hadley equipment, Hadley dispatch. Not an app, not a dispatch network — your call is never farmed out to a stranger.
  • Family-owned since 1952. Three generations, the same yards, the same phone numbers. See why that matters.
  • We show up with the right iron. The truck we send is sized to the job, because a job worked with the wrong equipment costs more than it saves.
  • Insurance approved. Covered tows are billed directly to the carrier and cost you nothing — see insurance-covered towing.

Bus Towing — Frequently Asked Questions

Can you tow a full-size transit bus?
Yes. Class 8 wreckers rated for transit and charter coaches, with correct lift points for low-floor frames.
What happens to the passengers?
They come off first, behind a barrier, coordinated with CHP or local PD. Then we work the recovery.
Do you work with school districts and transit agencies?
Yes, including on standing accounts so there's no procurement delay when a bus goes down.
Can you upright a rolled coach?
Yes — that's rotator work, from our 50 and 75-ton machines at Whittier HQ and Fontana.
Do you tow smaller shuttle buses?
Yes. Those are usually medium-duty work.
