What to have ready when you call for a tow

You can call even if you do not have every detail. Start with where you are and what happened. These details help our team work out the tow and explain what comes next.

At a glance. Your location and a description of the vehicle are a useful start. If you know the destination or plan to use insurance, have that information handy too.

Five useful details

  1. Your location

Give a street address or nearby landmark. On a freeway, include your direction of travel and nearest exit. In a parking structure, the level and entrance help us find you.

  2. The vehicle

Tell us the make and model, or describe the vehicle. Mention a trailer, load, lowered suspension or other modification.

  3. What happened

Describe the breakdown or damage. If you know whether it starts, rolls or steers, tell us. You do not need to diagnose the problem.

  4. The destination

Share the shop, dealership or address where you want it taken. If you haven’t arranged a destination, say so and we can discuss the options.

  5. Insurance, if you plan to use it

Have the insurer’s name and any claim or roadside-assistance details handy. Hadley can bill insurers directly for covered towing. The team will confirm authorization and any amount you may owe.

Before the tow is arranged

Ask about the towing plan, arrival estimate and price. Tell us if your location or destination changes after the call. For injuries or an immediate danger, call 911 first.
